Event Description

Put on your PJ's for those who have to wear them way too often. This is a day when everyone with an autoimmune disease can come out of their bubble of a separate disease and join all of those who are also under attack by their own immune systems. We are a strong, huge group - one in five people have an AI disease or disorder. Let's stand up and be counted. Be creative. Come up with your own PJ event. Check us out on Facebook "Find the common thread" or check out the web page for more info.

PJ Day was a screaming success in our town of 4500. Nearly everyone was in PJ's that day and those who weren't went home at lunch and put some on. We had a fashion show, a dance show, a ski race, a run, a couple of yoga classes, a free pasta dinner, and several parties and a dance - all in PJ's to raise awareness for autoimmune disease. I'm so proud of my town and so humbled by the support from everywhere. It was absolutely unreal. Here's a link to some pictures and write-ups on the day's events (http://findthecommonthread.com/2012/03/12/the-video-of-the-evening-...). Next year you gotta play, and send us the photos . I will be working on getting more things happening from an applied perspective here in Canada to help those who are suffering and trying to get a diagnosis and those who already have a diagnosis, but the ultimate goal is to push towards research in finding the common thread to all autoimmune disease. So lets do it fellow Wegos. Incidentally, I have Wegener's Granulomatosis which makes me a Weggie - you can check out my other blog at www.weggiesunite.blogspot.com
