The NACCHO Annual 2009 conference theme, The New Public Health – Working Across Sectors to Leverage Investment in Communities, is both timely and action-oriented. Now more than ever, local health department leaders and their public health partners must come together to learn and discuss what it will take to create “the new public health” to measurably improve health outcomes and health benefits for our communities. NACCHO Annual 2009 offers a valuable opportunity for all attendees to step back to examine where we have been, where we are as public health leaders, and where we are headed.
