The largest Sjogren's Syndrome Walkabout in the country!
Join us for the 2012 Philadelphia Area Sjogren's Syndrome Walkabout, and get a FREE day at the zoo for you and your family! All walkers get free admission - regardless of funds raised.
Of course, your donation is important too, in our work to improve the quality of life for Sjogren's patients everywhere!
What is Sjogren's (pronounced "show-grins)?
Sjogren's is the 2nd most common autoimmune disorder, affecting an estimated 4 MILLION Americans, 90% of whom are women. It is a condition in which the body attacks itself, most commonly affecting moisture-producing glands and connective tissue. However, Sjogren's is systemic, meaning it can (and does!) affect every system of the body, causing everything from organ failure to neurological damage, etc. Sjogren's patients are at an increased risk for a myriad of other issues, including being 44 times more likely thank the average person to develop Lymphoma.
Your support is critical! Share the event with everyone you know in the area - it's a great way to celebrate the warmer weather, friendship, family, and make a difference in the lives of million all at once!
