I did a tx quite close but they are use a special tape to keep blood flow to the area and swelling down. It help my arm and neck tons. I won't be having surg on my neck and my arm is much betetr than it was.

I think I am going to give it a stab from my knee to my foot. The treatment I can get is allowed under my insurance. ( who would have ever guessed that) I'll let you know how it works out.....

"Beka,

How I found rolfing was through a doctor office that was not traditional medicine. He was medical doctor that had physical therapist and acupuncturist work under him. The first time I saw him he asked me what I wanted from the treatment plan and I said relief from the pain. He said I am looking for cure. I laughed it off and told him I gave up on that several years ago. I had good results from acupuncture for first few visits then they started me on physical therapy to realign my body with no luck at all. My body was froozen, stiff and rigid but the pain had lessened some. I was referred to Dan Gentry certified rolfer, had no idea what rolfer was. The first visit Dan knew I was tough case. He had never worked with anyone who had TDD or even similar cases. He started working with me and he soon realized my body was not responding the way normal person would. He never gave up. I still seeing the acupuncturist but the doctor from that clinical was no longer interested in my case or really in helping all of sudden. The last time I went to his acupuncturist told me I can't do anything for it this from rolfing you are receiving. Soon I realized since it was not his clinic that was helping me completely he no longer wanted me as patient (but it was his referal to rolfer that helped me). Basically he not going to be able to use me to promote a book or his business he no longer wanted me as patient. Which is really sad from what I hear his business closed down last year.

In the beginning there was so many times I wanted to get rolfing, at times it was painful but something about rolfing is it is emotionally painful. You muscles over time tense they are stiff rigid but they are pockets where chemicals (endorphines, serotinon etc) stay and when a muscle spasm is released or relaxed and can release these chemicals like huge rush it is very emotional not mention medication you have taken in past they get trapped in these pockets as well. As my muscle began to loosen up after a session I would have this huge emotional breakdown crying depressed angry it was terrible and I didn't understand. I know a few times I called Dan yelling and cusing at him about it. Nearly quit so many times and he would kind laugh and say see you next week. He knew what I was going through and he stuck with me. He would talk to me while he was working on me next thing he was more than just rolfer working on my muscles, tendons and bones he was therapist. Soon after rolfing session I knew the emotional turmiol that followed would pass and it would be okay. I think this went on for alomst a year.

Before trying rolfing I had gone through the klonopin, ativan, flexaril, botox shots, few other medication side effects nearly sent me over edge. I couldn't tell you how many treatments I had tried and finally gave up and didn't take anything. Which that was after a dneurologist had been prescribing me sleeping pill, muscle relaxant and pain pill took me off all them cold turkey. Which about sent me in to withdrawals did number on my body(physically and mentally). Next time I went to see him he asked me about my medication and I said you cutall medication last visit. Didn't prescribe me any. He walked out of room rapidly next thing I know he walks in with 4 neurologist and they have me do all kinds of test ones I done several times previosuly. Then they decided to tell yes you do have generalized tardive dyskinesia/dystonia , all that to tell me something I have known for years. I never went back after that. I was seeing regular doctor who was interested in TDD and he worked with me. Mainly I taught him alot about TDD but he listened to me he soon relaized i knew more about what was going on with my body than he did. He was resident doctor so he is no longer there. I hardly go to doctors due to they get caught up in my disorder and not listen to me. My body reacts a different way when I have strep throat, cold, flu or other common illness. They go to poking my stomach and I will grismes some well it hurt not bc of muscle spasm. Doctors tend confuse my normal aches and pains for illness.

TDD can affect the body not to work properly, digestion, breathing, circulation etc can be affected depending what muscle groups or groups brain decides to send signal to. Rolfing has helped me so much not just physically, mentally and total well being. I am the only client that Dan sees that has TDD. Rolfing probably would not work with me so well if Dan not only listened to me but paid attention to how my body reacted to treatment. Rolfing helped me but like all treatments what works for one may not work for all.

Just wanted to share a little bit about rolfing."
