I have had Addison's for about 16 years now. I feel as if all the steroides i have taken caused bone lose, weight gain, severe heart burn, well just to many to list for now. Is there anyone out there that will share their experiences with me?

Adrenal issues are common in the thyroid community. Outright Addison's is not often found, as you know, but you are lucky that yours was identified.

How were you diagnosed? What tests etc? Have you ever had a crisis?

There are ways of addressing these adrenal issues and the need for steroids, as well as ways of keeping an eye on the potential side-effects that you need to be aware of. Addressing those side-effects early is going to be key. but as you know, steroids are what is keeping you alive. From what I understand, careful maintenance really is the key.

I have a few friends dealing with Addison's and adrenal issues. I'll see if I can get one or two to respond to your post. In the meantime, can you explain your story to those who are not familiar with the disorder? Such stories are often so very interesting!
