I am very new to dystonia and i know this will seem a very silly question to the oldes, but could someone describe a dystonic storm. I have generalized dystonia. I know i have clonic spasms in my legs for sometimes 3 days but unsure what is meant by STORM. Thank You.

Hi Freida,

I just saw this post ... you can find more info on dystonic storms in the post Dystonic Storms

Also if you search "dystonic storms" in the search box in the upper right hand portion of this page you will find a couple other post where it has been mentioned.

Freida,

I also wanted to say, never apologize or feel that any question is silly. Even us veterns learn new stuff everyday. In fact if it were not for this wonderful educational forum and Beka's dedication toward helping and educating all with dystonia, I myself would not of known what a storm was. 12 years into my dystonia I learned about them and prior to that I had never heard of them and I have had them, I always just chalked them up to being some freaky tremor episode or a major system overload.

The more silly questions that are asked, the more we all get to learn.
