Hello Everyone~! I am new here and look forward to getting to know everyone to share and support one another with our Chronic Ilnesses. I have Systemic Lupus (leave it to me as only one male in ten thousand are being diagnosed) Due to the Lupus, I also have moderate to severe Osteoarthritis that is behaving more and more like RA, yet the blood work doesn't support the diagnosis, thus far-- not uncommon. Because of scoleosis (sp?) diagnosed as a child and treated by wearing a brace for 3-4 years, I have always had a weakened back, yet it didn't stop me. I played most sports that I am sure didn't help me any. Now, at 57 I am certainly paying a price. I have Degenerative Joint Disease in all my joints, except my elbows and it has played havoc with my back. I also have four herniated discs, so as you can see, I live with a great deal of pain.

Fortunately, only about three weeks ago, I had a neurostimulator implanted in my back. All I can say is," AHHHHHH--Pain Relief!!! I am so grateful. I still have pain that bleeds through, yet the stimulator is making the pain far more mangeable. It is also helping with the neuropathy that I have in my legs and feet. WHOO-HOO!

Well, that's a little about me. Sorry for the length. I hope that others will share with me so we may begin to support one another, mutually.

Let's make it a good day!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the Chronic Illness group :)

Over the last 4 years I have battled with chronic illness, it has interfered with my life so dramatically that I have not worked for several years now, and am severely restricted with my daily activities.

I have a number of conditions, although at first it all seemed to be one problem. I have endometriosis (treated now), CFS, gluten intolerance, anaemia, and they are now looking into a possible sleep disorder.

It is frustrating seeking support when you don't know exactly what the problem is, and still more frustrating when you do but the problems are multiple and you are not sure where to start.

With this in mind I have created a network of sites to provide support to people with chronic illness (any chronic illness). The idea is that many of us suffer the same symptoms, go through the same tests and treatments, and have the same emotional issues. By coming together we can pool our knowledge and experiences, and help each other learn to manage our lives with illness.

Leave a comment, or join in a discussion above. Remember it's for any chronic illness so there may be a variety of topics, feel free to join one or start one of your own.
