Thanks for sharing this with the community, Geri. BPD is a not very publicized, though it is quite common, and those who have the disorder are often misunderstood - so I am really glad you have brought it people's attention. I just wrote a blog post about BPD and I'd be curious to see what you think about it. Did I accurately discuss/describe BPD? What else would you add? What is something that you would like people to know about BPD that they might not know? What has been the hardest thing about living with BPD.

You input would be greatly appreciated. And I hope others on WEGO Health will engage with you here and share stories with you - which is a great part of being a member of an online community. I'd also encourage you to join the Mental Health group and pose this same question there so that others (outside of the Depression group) might also join in discussion.

Thanks again!

Hi Geri,
You sound like someone who has been through a lot. I'm sorry that you've experienced such pain and that no one seems to understand you.

But I think that it's really great that you are persevering for your boys. They will see your strength and no doubt learn from it and appreciate it - even if they can't quite understand it. Your continued effort is really admirable. I can't imagine how tough it is. I hope that the medication is providing some solace or that treatments or therapies you've had in the past have helped. If not - I hope you find a combination of things that works for you. :)

I read on your profile that you really rely on your computer as a way to communicate with the world. Isn't the internet a great thing? It connects to so many people so easily. And as Vanessa mentioned in a comment on your profile - I think you might be interested in joining some online support groups. I did a lot of research and compiled a list of places where you can go online to make friends or just talk to others (either with BPD or with other mental illnesses or ailments who might be able to relate to your struggle or just talk with you.) Please feel free to check them out (click here). If you'd like another outlet - a place to write your feelings or thoughts - I'd suggest maybe starting a blog with wordpress.com (if you haven't yet) just as a place to express yourself and keep a journal. :)
