I have a fantastic physical response to it, but just a terrible psychological response. I've read the latter is extremely rare, but you might warn someone in your life to keep an eye out for you for a couple days.

Have taken flexeril soooo many times in the past 21 years & it's still not helping that I can tell. Good luck!

so why does your DR keep giving it to you? There are alot of others to try. I've found that soma, robaxin and valium have helped for 19 yrs. They seem to stop helping after about 3 mons so I rotate them.

I tryed Flexeril and it caused severe leg cramps especially at night. Also made me very sleepy and put me in the ozone.
I like my two feet to be on the ground and be aware of what is going on around me. Chalked that one OFF real fast.

Flexeril is a muscle relaxer. Some have excellent results others like myself had poor results. I think your Dr. is starting with mild relaxers and may later try something stronger. I know the Dr. I had at the time did that. The thinking on this may be to use the lowest effective med and dose possible leaving the option of increasingly powerful doses and meds if your case is progressive.

The flexeril has helped a little the severe contractions are not coming as frequently but they aren't gone completely. I am finding it makes me sleepy but I'm assuming any muscle relaxer will have that effect.

Flexaril is a muscle skeletal relaxant, somewhat like SOMA. It can be very sedating and knocks most people out - putting them to sleep.
More info to follow.

for most patients the sleepiness muscle relaxers cause is usually a temperary side effect and abates within a few weeks of dosing

I was on Flexaril about 30 yrs. ago when I was going for extensive physio therapy when I was in a hospital for 3 months to try to get me straighter, at the time I had not seen a movement disorder specialist yet. I was taking 6 pills a day and at time's it did make me feel sleepy but I was getting allot of stretching and at the same time I was having biofeedback everyday which was very tiring. It got me through a very difficult time and I did get straighter which was the whole idea. I did not stay on Flexaril for long because I had a baby to take care of and didn't want to feel sleepy and Flexaril can become addictive. Thorns
