While researching dystonia I never read anything about pain management until I included it in the search. I have had great results at times with the pain management. My dystonia affects lumbar thorasic lateral obliques and some abdominal muscles.

My brother and myself use to get spasms in our abdominal area also, but Baclofen has taken care of this, it was like someone was massaging our stomach it was very creepy. Haven't had it for year's since taking this medication the same with my brother. I did go to a pain management class when I was pregnant because I couldn't take medications, I learned allot about relaxtion and meditation and what kind of personality you are and how to change that to make you life less stressful. What sort of symptoms do you experience when you have spasms in your abdominal area ???
How was this determined ?
Tests ?

What I experienced was very sutle, it was like the muscle were contracting slowly, it's like when you try to hold your stomach in but at times you don't even now it's happening until it let's go and other times it's like you've been retching like when you sick and your muscles are sore. There were no tests and it was something I wasn't sure I had because my dystonia was causing me so many problems at the time I was working on getting them better at the time and the baclofen seemed to take care of the stomach problem. So I don't know if it was the stress of the symtems of Dystonia causing the stomach problem or the stomach was part of the dystonia, same with my brother. Thorns
