WEGO Health

Curious about the group's experience with exercise DVDs ... I noticed Jillian Michaels mentioned, and I'm going to try one of her on-demand programs tonight (go, Comcast!) -- I'm heading out into the snow to get some free weights.

How do you use DVDs -- as a way to get in some variety? Or a way to start out some new routines in a non-public way? Any that you recommend?

Thanks!!

I use them for variety. I've heard great things about the Jillian Michaels DVD. If you try it, let us know what you think.

I use yoga DVDs, which I buy from either Gaiam or YogaJournal online, since yoga classes are expensive and are usually scheduled when I'm working. They are also great to take on business trips as I can just pop them in my laptop.

I'm sorry I'm just seeing this discussion now! I've always been a huge fan of On Demand's "ExerciseTV", it's convenient, free, and actually fun! I use it a lot when I just don't feel motivated to make that 10 minute trek to the gym (see Habitual Gym Quitter). I love having the luxury of picking programs that target stubborn areas (my fav - "Abs of Envy"), as well as trying out new stuff like yoga! "Jackie's Workout" is another good one-I was sore for days after that one.

When it comes to exercise DVD's - I LOVE Cameron Electra's "Strip Tease" (sounds worse than it is). You get to learn fun dance routines that really make you sweat! Segments of this DVD are now On Demand. You might feel silly at first, but I swear you'll get hooked. Let me know if you try it out!
