A study done in Thailand has recently released great news - an HIV vaccination that actually works. Well, it works a third of the time. Vaccinations aren't normally touted as breakthroughs until they cover between 70 and 80 percent of the needed population, so this may not be the exact combination of drugs to solve the HIV crisis, but it looks like scientists are on their way.
A blog post from Aid Thoughts brought about some great comments questioning the thought-process on not putting the vaccination out to the public even at 30% coverage. It got me thinking should we trust a vaccination to prevent us from a virus with no cure even at 80% coverage?
