WEGO Health

At WEGO Health, we’re always looking to find high-quality information and conversations that matter to our health activists and we’d love to know where you’re finding helpful resources on the topic of high-risk pregnancy.

We know there are a number of great sites dedicated to pregnancy in general but I’m hoping we can get really specific. What specific pages/groups/etc. have you found that offer resources for the high-risk pregnancy community? We’re interested in everything from links to particular discussions, blog posts or threads to message boards, forums, blogs and whole websites that you’ve found that others might not yet know about.

I am looking forward to participating in the forum.

Here are the sites I have found the most helpful for high-risk pregnancy. I see that are many other options out there. It's such a great way to communicate and gather information from others.

After having 5 miscariages, I turned to the web to seek comfort, help and resources from as many places as I could find. There is a lot of information out there, some good, some bad. My favorite site is WbMD, because it is factual and helpful. So is Pregnancy.org. I also enjoy the articles and "tidbits" at Babycenter.com. For message boards, cafemom is fun, and I also belong to a private chat forum which is for a group of local women who have dealt with loss and problems in pregnancy.

Hello! In my experience I really enjoyed WebMd. It gives a lot of factual information! Sometimes it gives a little to much information. That is when I go research somewhere like babycenter!

Hi
I found the best site to be iVillage it gives you a range of information on pregnancy and women's health. I like it because it focuses on women's needs In addition, it gives you specific information about the stages of pregnancy, problems, and how to deal with it. It is written from a women's perspective which is something I really enjoy.

I found WebMD to be a good resource for the topic of high-risk pregnancy. I used this website for more knowledge during my second pregnancy. Also, it leads to various other links that can give more insights and information. It is www.webmd.com. Check it out!!!

Hi Susan,

WebMD has an excellent message board on the topic of high-risk pregnancy. The address is: http://boards.webmd.com/webx/topics/hd/Pregnancy/Pregnancy-High-Ris.... This website contains some excellent information.

The sites I have found to offer valuable resources include: www.preconception.com, www.storknet.com, www.stages-in-pregnancy.com, http://www.newbaby.com/Pregnancy_Pregnancy+Advice_High+Risk+Factors... as well as ones mentioned below like www.cafemom.com and WebMD. Two other great sites are: http://www.momstalknetwork.com/resources/high-risk-pregnancy-factors/ and http://www.i-am-pregnant.com/encyclopedia/Pregnancy/High-risk-pregn... as they indicate what factors are involved with high risk pregnancies.

I tend to be looking for medical articles so I can find peer-reviewed research to back up my opinions and honestly what's helped me most is good ol' google. Pubmed is helpful too. For mainstream, easy access info, I agree that webmd.com is a great site. Almost any condition also has a support site available, and I find that those communities are a huge resource of been-there-done-that information.

I look forward to learning more about what this community has to offer as well!

The sites that I have found helpful are OBGYN.net. This website gives an great information on a variety of health issues affecting women's health. A website dealing specifically with infertility issues which is good is INCIID.org. ( International Council on Infertility Information Dissemination. I found this one to be very helpful in learning more about IVF. I also find WebMD to be a good resource.
