WEGO Health

At WEGO Health, we’re always looking to find high-quality information and conversations that matter to our health activists and we’d love to know where you’re finding helpful resources on the topic of high-risk pregnancy.

We know there are a number of great sites dedicated to pregnancy in general but I’m hoping we can get really specific. What specific pages/groups/etc. have you found that offer resources for the high-risk pregnancy community? We’re interested in everything from links to particular discussions, blog posts or threads to message boards, forums, blogs and whole websites that you’ve found that others might not yet know about.

I was placed on bed rest in the middle of my 7th month. I utilized wedmd.com, parents.com, whattoexpect.com, and a local resource momslikeme.com. It was great having so many resources with relevant information. Using the on-line resources, I felt much more at ease and had less fear and anxiety. It was encouraging to know I was only a click away from good advice. I'm sure I would have made many more calls to the nurse with general questions if I were not connected to these on-line resources.

I have found babycenter.com, webmd.com and whattoexpect.com to be the best sources of information on high risk pregnancy for me. They tend to lay out their topics in a concise way that makes it easier for me to find the issue I'm concerned about. They also have experts who post information so I know I'm not simply getting information from the average person.

I started doing the pregnancy related research when I had my first miscarriage. Followed by Gestational Diabetes and some other problems during my other pregnancies.
I have found Webmd(that was my first place for research), http://www.webmd.com/baby/folic-acid-and-pregnancy.
http://www.webmd.com/baby/guide/coping-with-high-risk-pregnancy
Babycenter, i village, kellymom.com

Some great resources that I have found amazing are ivillage.com and babycenter.com. The reason I love ivillage it its for woman, and no matter what issue you are going thru during a pregnancy, after, whether its pregnancy-related or not...you will always find a topic relevant to your need, and plenty of people who are willing to support you with kind words, advice and direction.

Usually, I like to use webmd.com. It seems to be the best at sticking to the facts. I just started getting into cafemom.com, it was referred to me by a friend, and that site is great for hearing other mom's real experiences and thoughts. Since I am high risk this time around, I try to be cautious of whose advice I listen to. There are also many groups on facebook that you can join if you join facebook. These are typically blogs and others replies compared to webmd which is more medically fact based.

Sidelines National Support Network: http://www.sidelines.org/
The Survivors Club : http://www.thesurvivorsclub.org/support-center/health/womens-health...

A couple of places that I don't believe were already mentioned.

I am high risk for a couple of reasons but hopefully all goes well. I have been using parenting.com and http://www.babykick.com/ but will choose others now from a;ll of the resources provided from you ladies. I'm looking forward to the focus group.

I really like families.com and webmd.com. There is a lot of helpful information on both sites, and a community of women I can get advice from and give to.

I have found that as well as WebMD I also use Sidelines National Support, momslikeme.com, I also find that American Congress of OB/Gyn is great .They mostly have online discussions and are very supportive.Momslikeme are like family to me.I work as an ultrasound tech and deal with high-risk pregnancies and it is comforting when I share all this with the new "nervous" moms.I myself have had a high risk pregnancy and it gets very overwhelming. and so scary.Askanob.com is also another good website.
