WEGO Health

At WEGO Health, we’re always looking to find high-quality information and conversations that matter to our health activists and we’d love to know where you’re finding helpful resources on the topic of high-risk pregnancy.

We know there are a number of great sites dedicated to pregnancy in general but I’m hoping we can get really specific. What specific pages/groups/etc. have you found that offer resources for the high-risk pregnancy community? We’re interested in everything from links to particular discussions, blog posts or threads to message boards, forums, blogs and whole websites that you’ve found that others might not yet know about.

I have found that this is probably the best group ever!!! http://www.cafemom.com/group/299 Its the main pregnancy group on CafeMom. I have made alot of great friends there. I currently am having issues with my pregnancy. I have gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, and a partial placenta abruption. I have found many moms in that group that are experiencing the exact same thing that I am or have experienced it before. I get a lot of emotional support there. :) They also have a chat that is open a lot. So when its 3 am and I cant sleep.... I go and chat with the other moms!

This site also.... http://phpbb.aplacetoremember.com/

It is a lot smaller, but its a great site to meet other moms that have had previous and current pregnancy related issues.

Hi Tiffany, fullterm and babycenter all have good resources and the good thing about the forums is that you will find someone going through the same thing with you and can always share information.

Hi Tiffany and other:
My name is Tiffany also and I have surfed around a little bit on cafemom. There seems to be numerous groups that are available to join. Have you seen this? http://www.babykick.com/ It is a good site. I prefer Parenting.com though because of the wide variety of topics.

Dear Ladies:

I am so excited to be a part of this group! I think WEGO health is a great forum for like-minded health activists to get together and share common stories, insight, and great web site hints. I've learned a lot from the different women I've interacted with on this site already, so I'm very thrilled to be a part of this group also! BTW, I often look to the Mayo web site for answers about my health questions- esp. when I had questions about one of my high-risk pregnancies.

Best wishes and looking forward to chatting with you more!

I like "full term.net", "babycenter.com" and the "bump.com". The bump.com is a good source for community boards and stories concerning parenting and pregnancies. I also visit more clinical sites (like WebMD) and other social sites like Facebook.

There are so many great sites out there with good information it's hard to list just a few. However, I'll list some of my favorites. I like WebMD.com quite a bit as the information is factual and reliable. Fullterm.net is a great site for information, including some of the technical aspects of high risk testing. Sidelines.org is a good one too.

On the other hand, sites like storknet.com have some great coping tips, and sites like cafemom.com and ivillage.com are good sources for networking, chatting and meeting women with similar concerns. I think Wego Health looks promising as the site grows as well.

I'm also new to this group and very interested in meeting people and finding out more information on this topic. As a social worker I'm always looking for infromation on various medical issues. I frequent WebMD and find that it offers a lot of good information.

I like Discovery Health Pregnancy/Parenting Group and Inspire.Com .Both offer great discussion topics on high risk pregnancy. The SurvivorsClub.org's High Risk Pregnancy Center has a vast of information about the trimesters of high risk pregnancy. Besides the sites listed above I enjoy going to sites like RealAge.com. The Real Age website provides you with information for healthy living. I also like to watch health shows on TV.

You know I remember going through Discovery Health Pregnancy/Parenting Group and thought it was FANTASTIC! Can't believe I forgot to mention it here! Thanks for bringing it up!

I too am new to this group and really look forward to sharing and discussing issues I have had with high-risk pregnancies. The sites I am comfortable with are MomCentral, their forums are wonderful, and if you dont find the topic you like, open one up and someone always chimes in. Some women take comfort in knowing you are feeling the same way they are. ALso I use MomLogic, as they have stories, and you can share your too, along with their forums. I have gone to WebMD for the medical side of issues, but I mainly like connecting with women who have gone thru, or are going thru what I am. So I am very much looking forward to getting to know women here, and look forward to this.

Hello! Thanks for this opportunity. I have to say the sites I frequent are some pretty awesome sites. Dealing with pregnancy is a very important yet stressful time in our lives and I think that having a great site with great resources and advice is a wonderful way to help us through the stress, anxiety, worries and even the happy times of conceiving/pregnancy! I know from experience the sites I have listed below do just what I mentioned above! They are truly great!

They are....
Webmd.com
Justmommies.com
Fullterm.com
Whattoexpect.com
Mylittlebean.com
Whattoexpect.com - This is a great resourcing site!
Mayoclinic.com - Another great resourcing site!
