WEGO Health

Sometimes the greatest strength and empowerment of information in is sharing your story with others. This is especially true for the infertility community. We each come from an eclectic mix of experiences and have much to contribute as well as learn from one another.

What's your story?

Here are a few great questions to get us started:

- Why did you decide to turn to the online fertility community?
- How has being a member of the online fertility community has helped you?
- What are some of the resources you've found most helpful online?

Joinging WEGO and other online groups has given me the opportunity and support to face this challenge. It is good to know others experiences that may also help my situation too. Getting ideas from others and approaching my Dr with them has been helpful too.

Hi Vanessa - - it's been a while since I first joined via the focus group. I'm at such a crossroads and maybe I am now 'on board' with Wego, if you will as I've been trying to deal with issues for a while and today it came to a head. I am 46 and we are trying to conceive but to no avail...naturally. After a discussion with multiple doctors, we decided to go the route of trying drugs (via shots) and then insemination. Last month, 2nd day of my period, I went in and rec'vd all the meds and went home and talked w/my fiancé for hours as I had to start it that evening or not at all. We vacillated because I wanted to try and yet we could put the money towards invitro. The doctor gave me less than 1% of it even working. If we go the invitro route, than my chances are 50-60% that I could conceive but it would not be my egg. Another difficult challenge for me. We did not use the meds and then I decided to do so today, went to the doctor and then thought about it and decided to not spend the time/money/anxiety on a less than 1% chance. We are going to go back and discuss a donor egg/invitro option. However, I so wanted this to be my egg and so wish I knew of any idea to make it happen. I even downloaded the e-book - Pregnancy Miracles. I'm probably grasping and I DO KNOW that I would love our child no matter the egg or sperm. Thank you as this is cathartic and a safe place to talk about these issues. I look forward to any thoughts.
