WEGO Health

I just came across a new website, YawnLog, that lets you keep track of your sleep patterns.

You set a target number of hours per night, and then each day, plug in how many hours you actually slept. You can also make notes about the quality of your sleep, your dreams, etc. The site calculates how much you're sleeping each day, and tracks your sleep debt as well.

It's an incredibly easy to use interface, I set up an account and entered my data for last night in about 5 minutes. Here's my profile, in case you're curious.

I know it's not uncommon to keep journals, diaries, or logs for a number of health conditions, but this is the first site I've come across doing this specifically for sleep. Have I missed some obvious ones? Let me know!

Marie,

This is the first online sleep diary I have seen. All of the others I have seen are pen and paper type. I have to say though that in order to benefit from having a sleep log or diary comes from filling it out.

Hi Sleepapnea_ed,

Do you keep a journal?

I'm considering keeping a sleep journal, but I'm not yet sure if I want to try one online, or if jotting things down on paper or in a notebook would be easier. I kept a Migraine diary for quite a while. It was in a notebook and I found it very awkward to travel with it. However, there are days when I can't get online and wonder if that would end up being a problem as well...

So many things to think about...

Hi Marie - how has the sleep log been coming? What have been the worst and best parts about keeping the log, and do you think it's been helpful for you?

I admit that my sleep tracking has fallen off a bit. I didn't realize how well I'd been sleeping until I had a few bad nights last week where I was tossing and turning for hours! Maybe it's time to get back on the horse and start keeping track again.

I wonder if keeping a sleep journal is like a Migraine journal..... it's just as important to keep it when things are going well as when they are not going well. What do you think Marie? How else will you know the pattern of a good day vs a bad day and how to fix it?
