About me
Health and wellness research and support has been a huge part of my life since I was a child. Both of my parents were advocates in cancer research and care, and I learned from watching them how important it is to be tuned in.

My first experience in online community building was at iVillage.com, where I developed content and community for women across a variety of topics, including politics and working from home. At Boston.com I spent a lot of time encouraging readers to share their experiences, both in discussion forums and through photos.

Blogging about illness/disease - why do you do it? And does it help?

My hometown newspaper just published this article, "Cancer blogs become part of treatment." The article talks about the many reasons patients/caregivers blog - an easy way to update large groups of friends/family, as a creative outlet etc. - and some researchers are starting to dig into the clinical benefits. I found this quote particularly interesting, "While research on cancer patient bl… Continue

Cooking lessons from Greece....

I just returned from my honeymoon from Greece. When people ask me how my trip was I've been saying, "Beautiful, hot, and DELICIOUS." The fruits and veggies were so fresh. I had one or two salads a day and they were all amazing. I realized I needed more fruits and veggies in my life. I just came across this "Summer Salad with Feta" recipe in the NY Times that I wanted to pass along.… Continue

Thanks for your reading my blog. The biggest challenge I helping NAMI PA, Main Line with is that if getting word out to relevant mental health interested consumers and caregivers about our events and support resources. Our goal is to raise the level of attendance at our events and use of our resources.

Online is a really new endeavor for us as we hoped it would more quickly anad cost effectively reach those specifically interested and in need of our resources in our geographic area of Philadelphia. We willsee how it goes.

We do not have online support resources at this time.

Hi adrienne,
I have had migraines for over 20 years and my husband is a doctor who deals with migraines. I have a blog where I try to post all of the information I wish I knew at the the time when my migraines started. I would love to create some type of post to ask migraineurs on wego what triggers they have. Do you have any idea on how to do this? I am a huge migraine and pain advocate and a therapist. I would love to try to help others that are new to this to be able to get the knowledge we had to learn the hard way. Could you help with this?
Hope you have a pain free day!
Liz

Hi Adrienne - Thanks so much for reading my article! It's amazing the things you wind up finding out sometimes, isn't it? Did you know that in almost every other part of the world IUDs are the most popular contraception? Pills are actually second almost every place else. But since the 1980s, they haven't been heavily promoted, until recently.

Hi Adrienne - Day by day my computer is functioning less and less. It is to be fixed tomorrow morning first thing. At this point I can't even access past emails let alone send new ones, so I thought I'd talk to you here. As soon as I have a reliable computer again, expect me to start the coaching course. With any luck, tomorrow.
- Megan
