WOW Brooklynn, this post made me smile. It's so very true that "Change is the death of something which means it is the birth of something new." I recently quit a steady job in Portland to move to the Bay Area without a job guarantee. I closed one ...

Great post, Brooklyn. The mind is like a computer--garbage in garbage out. Keep filling the mind with vision and possibilities and who knows what can happen. I'm experiencing a bit of this right now. Keep up the great work.

It Never Rains in Southern California ... they tell me

It is official. I am not moving to Oklahoma. We said yes and then we said no. I found a new job that actually pays a little bit better and I start Graduate School so I can pursue my dream. I know people are telling us the economy is tanked and I know we all know people who are in this process of change because of it ... but in Prince's words: I'm here to tell ya there's sumthin else. I refused to believe that I could not find another job. I refused to believe that I was somehow incapable of purs… Continue

Hope you are well.......

I just wanted to send a quick hello to everyone. I have been working on my www.halfgay.wordpress.com which is chronicling my life from beginning to present. I add in a little of my rants here and there. BUT, I wanted to take a minute to say hello and beg your pardon for my absence. My migraines have been getting less frequent which has been a blessing. I wish I knew what was different, but alas the only thing I can think of is that I am no longer on birth control.

I hope everyone is healthy and… Continue

Pardon my absence

I have been focusing on my www.halfgay.wordpress.com blog - I am so ready to write this memoir and I have found the outlet I needed to start it. The feedback has been so valuable on it that it has been encouraging me to keep going. My hopes are that a publisher will see this and contact me.

So while my voice here has been relatively silent as of lately....it has not been muted. I am simply redirecting my sounds towards something I have always wanted to: share my story.

I invite all of you ther… Continue

Lo Que Sea Con Amor

It amazes me what we can take when we love someone. I recently was speaking to a friend who had, what I would say, a very happy marriage with the man she never thought she would find. She described to me what happened to her recently on Valentines Day. She was at work and had forgotten her cell phone at home. So, she decided to send her husband a lovey text message. She received an expected response from her husband with another woman's name sprinkled with pet names she had never been called. In… Continue

GOOD EVENING BROOKLYNN,

I AM SO HAPPY THAT IS WORKING FOR YOU. I AM NOT ABLE TO TAKE ANY FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL , SO I CAN'T USE HORMONE REPLACEMENT AS WELL. OH HOW I WOULD LOVE TOO BUT I HAVE PROBLEMS THAT WOULD CAUSE CANCER. HENCE THE DECISION THAT WAS MADE.

THANK YOU FOR THE HEADS UP ON IT THOUGH.

YOURS DEARLY

Glad to hear you're hanging in there. Not being in so much pain all the time is wun-derful! lol! I've been kind of yucky lately. Still, I'm so much better than I was 2 years ago, sometimes I don't know why I'm complaining now! If I could lower stress (yes, I know they SAY it doesn't trigger Migraines) I really think I'd feel better. :) Having both kids move out the same week is just plain HARD! What an adjustment...

Thanks....was reading your comments on "hostile mucous," haven't thought about that stuff in a while. I was also on the pill for years before trying to get pregnant, and my 1st was born when I was 33. It took 3 years of trying for us and I always wondered if it was b/c of the pill but do not know. Our 2nd was born 19 months later....easy to conceive 2nd time around!

Yeah, I have faith it'll all work out how it's supposed to ... as nervous as I am about it all. I think I'm most excited about the super-long road trip I'm going to be taking to get there!

Thanks :) I am....we are .....very excited about this new venture. Although, the immature child that lives in me thinks hostile muscous is just kinda funny. Glad to hear that you're feeling better since being off the pill. I know that's the case with a lot of women. Personally I feel awful (period-time, at least) when I am off birth control pills.

I have yet to read the Lamb book. I am so cheap when it comes to buying books so I've got it on my BookMooch list and am trying to be patient. I think books should be free for everyone. I did read the first two books in the Twilight series though!

I *LOVE* Lamb. Love love love that man. I can't rave about the magnificence of She's Come Undone enough, either. It still boggles my mind that a man wrote such a powerful book from a woman's point of view.

I really want to read the Twilight series, but am too cheap to buy 'em and the waiting list at the library is insane. Maybe I'll start with Anne Rice instead!
