- I am a person challenged by a form of early onset Alzheimer's Disease that affected our mother and aunt along with family members throughout the generations before us. It was in 1990 at the age of 41 that I was sent by my family doctor to a specialist that was also treating our mother at the time. Over the years I have been able to "survive" and actually have a better quality of life now than in years around 1998 which were my worst years. It has taken looking outside the box by both myself, my family, and my doctors. My goal is to get the word out that there is "life after diagnosis" and there is also prevention. There are others like me, we have formed a national organization, forMemory: Building Hope in Early Onset Alzheimer's and Related Dementias. A united voice is a stronger voice.

I just read your spotlight interview and I wanted to thank you for sharing your story. I'd never heard of EOAD before. Most of what I've read or heard about was been late stage, in the over 60 age group.
Thank you so much for educating us and for letting others with EOAD know that they aren't alone.
