Crohn's Disease Support Network

My name is Jason Leitman. I am 30yrs old and the founder of the Crohn's Disease Support Network. I have been living with Crohn's Disease for 25yrs, and have been on disability from it for too many years now! I live in Cincinnati, OH - and CDSN is global.

Crohn's Disease Support Network (CDSN) was created on September 24th, 2009. It is a completely free non profit social/support network for people living with Crohn's Disease, along with the families and friends of Crohn's patients

CDSN was created in the hopes of helping those whose lives have been effected by Crohn's Disease. I knew it had to be for family and friends also, as I've seen what it has done to my loved ones over the years. Family and friends need as much support, in helping understand. My other hope is to spread as much awareness possible. Crohn's Disease has been wreaking havoc in this world for to long, which needs to end! NO MORE KEEPING QUIET - as a community we can let the world know about Crohn's Disease. It is vital that education and understanding be spread in hopes of finding a cure, and helping those who need it.

For years I searched out support, and never really found much. It is pretty common that talking about Crohn's can not be the easiest topic to discuss. I truly hope that people connect, share, educate, laugh, cry, and support each other. Just regular people helping other regular people - nothing more.

Hi CrohnsDiseaseSN - wanted to send you a formal welcome to the Autoimmune Diseases group here at WEGO Health. It's great to have you here! I hope you can take a moment to visit the Introductions thread and tell us a little about yourself and your communities. It's great to take a moment and read about some of the other Autoimmune Group Health Activists there as well!

What brings you to the Autoimmune Diseases group? I see you have Crohn's. I have Sjogren's, Lupus, Graves' Disease and some RA crossover to round things off. I've been dealing with these for some time both diagnosed and undiagnosed/re-diagnosed. It's a crazy thing to deal with but we manage. It would be great if you could educate us all a little about Crohn's. We don't have too much traffic here yet re: this disease.

If there is anything I can do to help you connect with other autoimmune Health Activists, please let me know - I'm glad to do what I can :)

If you would like to write a blog post or re-post something you've already written elsewhere, please tag it with the word Autoimmune and it will appear on the Autoimmune Diseases group page for all to see.

I look forward to getting to know you. Have a great weekend!

More about me (my health interests and reasons for joining WEGO Health)
CDSN is a FREE NON PROFIT Support Network - created on September 24th, 2009. www.CrohnsDiseaseSN.com

This network's goal is to help people living with Crohn's Disease, along with the families and friends of Crohn's patients. Family members and friends need support also because it is never easy to see someone you care about suffer.

There is a large majority of people who know someone with Crohn's or have heard of it, although they have no idea what it is or how serious it can be. Hopefully through the CDSN these people can connect with each other to offer support, awareness, and education.

This site is geared towards Crohn's Disease though ANYONE is welcome - especially those with other Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Together we can make a difference!
