- I was dianoised with Essential TRemors & CD March 2006. I got up for work one morning, all at once I was shaking head to toe. In retrospect I can see some of the symptoms were coming on for a while. feeeling a slight head nod from time to time, but all my Dr. said was, that is strange, we will keep an eye on it. When that "dreadful" morning came, my Dr. set me up with a Neurologist immediately. After 2 visits to him, he felt it was Dystonia, but said I had him "stumped," apparently because of having both conditions falre up at the same time. Went to an MDS at his suggestion, who diagnosed me within about 3 minutes. I did receive Botox which helped, but due to insurance problems, I haven't been able to get the injections in over 20 months. Fortunately my Medicare will kick in in Sept. I know one lady that said with her Medicare, her Botox only costs $50.00 (compared to the $1650.00 mine cost.) But another lady said Medicare wouldn't pay for hers.
I am nearly 57, have 2 grown daughter & 8 grandkids that are the lights of my life.
