Hello Dr. Chapnick, I ran across your blog post quite by accident today. Not sure how I could have missed it - Oy! I think so many people are used to treating their bodies as they might a car - as a conglomeration of pieces and parts, not a whole…

Profile Information

More about me (my health interests and reasons for joining WEGO Health)
I am a graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and Life Chiropractic College, graduating Cum Laude in 1986. I began as an associate at Billerica Chiropractic Office immediately upon graduation. In 1990, my wife, Dr. Honi Kawut and I, purchased Billerica Chiropractic Office. Together we built one of the largest and most successful chiropractic offices in the Greater Lowell area. In 1995, I earned an advanced degree as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. With that additional degree, I went on to become the chiropractor for the New England Riptide (a professional women’s softball team) and the N.Y. Yankees when they are in Boston playing the Red Sox. Additionally, I volunteer every year at the Boston Marathon, providing free Chiropractic care for the runners.

I am an avid lecturer and motivational speaker, having lectured to civic groups, businesses, churches, and schools and at Yale Medical School. I regularly speak on such topics as: The 5 Strategies to Achieve Peak Performance in Your Life, Stress Management, Stay Fit While You Sit and Children’s Health. Along with my wife, I have had a television show on Billerica Access T.V. since 1998 entitled You and Your Health. Recently, I became a regular contributor to the Billerica Minuteman newspaper, authoring articles on health and wellness on a monthly basis.

Being a chiropractor was my goal since I was a 14-year-old boy after receiving my first adjustment for an acute case of torticollis (stiff neck). I knew at the time that chiropractic was great for neck and back pain but it was during chiropractic school and throughout my career that I began to understand the remarkable healing ability of the human body when it is free from nerve interference caused by subluxations. To this day, I continue to be amazed on a daily basis the miracles that chiropractic produces. My personal mission is to inspire and motivate people to achieve a higher quality of life through healthy lifestyle choices. I believe that we are (save for the rare genetic issue) programmed to be healthy. We are not as healthy as we can be when either we do things to our body that we shouldn't or we don't do enough things for ourselves that we should be doing

When not in the office,I love spending time with hmy wife, my daughter Arielle and my son David. I also exercise regularly and am an avid bowler.

Well hello WEGO community! Time for my very first blog ever. I guess the best way for me to start is to tell you a great success story that also still leads to a great deal of frustration on my part.
When Johnny's (not his real name) parents first brought him into our office to see us, He was such a sickly little boy. He was about 9 yo at the time and was so sick so often that he had missed enough school to cause him to repeat a year of school. Diagnosis by his pediatrician...."a weak immune sys… Continue
