Amanda - Your experience is just your experience; I'm sorry you're having a heavy period during your inactive week. It's not psychosomatic, that's doing yourself an injustice, but it's not necessarily typical, either. Your endometrium isn't buildi...

Wow! I was really surprised at the first poll's results! The results definitely mean that perhaps more dialogue should be going on about Lybrel and other continuous pill methods. I haven't seen a single ad for Lybrel - but if people have (or will)...

More about me (my health interests and reasons for joining WEGO Health)
I grew up in the Hudson Valley region of New York and have been living in Boston for the past three years. I'm in my final year as an undergraduate student at Emerson College. I'll be hopefully entering the "lucrative" publishing world when I graduate in December.

Having worked in a nursing home and rehabilitation center for two years, I'm fairly familiar with health care, specifically in relation to the elderly. I have personal experience with Alzheimer's care.

My main health interests are mental health as well as sleep disorders.

Bedtime Relaxation Tips

I have a hard time sleeping. Some nights it takes me hours to get to sleep; other nights I fall asleep almost instantly only to wake up in the early morning. If I'm lucky (which I am very often not), I can have two or three hours of unbroken sleep in a night. Otherwise, I wake up constantly and am often awake for extended periods of time.

The sleeping pill market is thriving these days, thanks to the increased media focus on Ambien, the slew of over-the-counter diphenhydramine-based tablets (Si… Continue

I was recently reading a BlogHer post by Nordette entitled Life as a Sandwich Generation Mom. In her post, she discusses how the appearance of a black snake disrupted her day… Continue
