More about me (my health interests and reasons for joining WEGO Health)
My mother has suffered for many of her 80 yrs with essential tremor. My mom said that at the age of around 40, she was showing signs and trying to 'hide' them.
Today she continues to live day to day with an obvious head tremor which worsens if she becomes increasingly stressed. I wish that she could live day to day without the head tremors as she does while she sleeps, that is the only time that she is notably 'free'. She natually hates having no control of stopping the tremors.
I wish that she had friends who are living in the same situation in the Stoney Creek, Hamilton Ontario area as I feel that she may benefit from living her life along side others who live with essential tremors.
If anyone knows of a Stoney creek support group or friends around her senior age who suffer from essential tremor would you please contact me?
A grateful and loving daugher, Kathy

Hello Kathy; In our group we do have people with essential tremor along with dystonic's, but we are quit aways from victoria Harbour. Is Victoria Harbour not up north, north of Wassaga beach that's where map quest show's it, because there is a support group in Guelph which would be closer. Does your mother have dysthonia also because this does affect a person's vocal cord's and makes it difficult to speak without a waver or to halt, or be reduced to be a whisper. We do have meetings in Hamilton and one is coming up this Saturday 27, and we have them at St. Peter's Hospital, we are having massage therapist's at this meeting, it starts at 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the basement Rm. B if she would be interested in coming she would be welcomed. Thorns
