Crystal, oh lord how I hope that isn't the case. I don't know if it's worth that much effort (in my opinion) to exercise to exhaustion JUST to prevent pregnancy when there are so many other easy-to-take birth control options out there!

AmyK - glad that it makes sense to people. Once I started reading, it made total sense to me, too! I haven't seen much discussion about the subject just yet but hopefully we can encourage people to talk more! I posted about the male counterpart to...

Crystal, you're welcome. The more people who know that living with HIV/AIDS isn't a) a death sentence or b) always a show of your true character the more the stigma can be lessened. Before I had read a few of the blog posts I found about this top...

Crystal, I hate thinking that I'm being a hypochondriac when I notice that something is wrong with my body, but like we've been discussing, we know our bodies better than anyone else, and if we notice that something is wrong, we are most likely ri...

More about me (my health interests and reasons for joining WEGO Health)
I'm Sarah, a late 20-something woman learning to make the best cup of coffee (mmmm, tasty caffeinated antioxidants!). I am a nanny by day and a superhero by night. Okay, well, not really, I mostly do health research, email Marie and listen to the TV. I live with a arthritis-like condition called ankylosing spondylitis and love hot bubble baths. I am a Twitter addict as well as a active blogger. My toes are always cold and I don't really mind it.

I have a BA in German (from Oregon State University) and in Community Health Education (from Portland State University). My ultimate goal would be to educate the health educators but in the meantime I do a lot of reading on women's health, HIV/AIDS and childhood poverty. I am passionate about working towards improved health conditions for women and children of both the United States and globally.

Hi Sarah,

I appreciate the warm and friendly e-mail. We health activists have to stick together. :) If I could find a full-time job as a health activist I would be so happy.

I am the Founder of the Women's Health imperative in Vernon Hills, IL. Our group is about the importance of women taking care of their health.

It's imperative that women learn about wellness, disease prevention and become their own health advocate.

We will meet quarterly to learn about various health care topics and disease prevention. I am in the process of developing outings to
health food stores, organic food stores, etc.

Also, I am working on a health advocacy blog. How, I got started was when I was diagnosed with Uveitis and had a difficult time finding specialists educated about this eye disorder and how to properly treat it. I have now come full circle and am healed but it was an ordeal.

I really consider myself a health evangelist. That's the best description I can come up with because that's what I do!

Take a look at my site and tell me what you think:

The link for teen parents is as follows: http://www.meetup.com/Teen-Parents-Too-Soon/
I am trying to get this off the ground.

Also, the quiz was good.

Warm regards,

Necie Edwards

Hey Lady!

I am good. I have actually been fairly migraine free...whoohooo! I am really thinking one of the main culprits was my birth control pill. My hormones are finally getting back to normal.

How are you doing?

Thanks for the kind words. On April 20th, I achieved my goal and became the first person with documented severe lung disease to ever finish the Boston marathon.

Good luck at the Portland marathon, which my the way is one of my favorites in the whole world. ( Ive done it twice)
