More about me (my health interests and reasons for joining WEGO Health)
I suffer from Cervical & Myoclnus Dystonia. I also have Essential Tremor. I was diagnosed last year with the first 2 after years of being told it was all in my head. I hate the fact that so many other sufferers are going through similar experiences I did & so want to spread awareness among society as a whole. I enjoy reading when I can concentrate, watching films, seeing bands & listening to all kinds of music. I use alternative & complimentary therapies to help me deal with my condition & would like to help others to deal with theirs too. I am secretary for my local Dystonia Support Group & though Dystonia is hard to cope with at times I am very thankful that by having it, I have been able to meet so many nice people.

Hi Tracey,
trying to stay positive is the best thing to do, but i find it some times hard to keep doing,it is difficult at times when you get isolated, but then all of the sudden I get a glimmer of hope agin and keep thinking do not give up.Maybe to become a acrobat is a good idea. I find keeping humor is a good thing also.Take care and keep smiling.

Hi Tracey - Welcome to WEGO Health! I'm glad to see you commented on the Dystonia group already. You sound like a very active person in the Dystonia community. I'm sure you have so much to share with us! I'm so excited you're here. I have Dystonia also, and helped Beka to start the group here. She has made it such a success!! I'm a Migraine blogger here as well. The spasms of Dystonia and Migraine are intimately tied with me, and each makes the other much worse. It's a tenacious balance, keeping each under control. There are so many Migraineurs who don't realize they are suffering from Dystonia as well. Different forms. Some, but not all suffer as a result of the medicines they're taking for Migraine attacks. So many are told it's in their mind, or it will go away and not to worry about it. I am Generalized and was told I was a drug-seeker. I hope to help dispel these kinds of myths. The sooner, the better!

I look forward to getting to know you. If you can, stop by and say "hello"!

Hi Tracey.
First of all sorry for my bad english, but i have it a little rusty :)
Pleased to meet you. I´m a physiotherapist whose friend is Fernando, a Spanish dystonic patient. He has a web: distoweb. Perhaps you don´t know that both of us have been working to implement in his web a physiotherapy section; in this section we comment in a very practical way the most common dystonic symptoms and we do some references about Parkinson and essential tremor. I think all of this could help a lot of people in order to treat themselves and to get a better life quality.
To everybody:
Please enter distoweb and get profit on it :)
A hold to everyone.
Luis.

Hi Tracey,

I'm so happy to see you here, welcome my new friend :) I was reading about what you wrote in the tips and tricks, I'm gonna talk to my health food store people about that, thanks. I also didn't know you too had trigeminal neuralgia. More and more I am hearing of people who have both so I started a new thread on that subject.

If You need any help or have any questions please feel free to let me know :)
