Ellen S Lose sleep, feel more pain - beginning a dialogue

Pain and sleep leaders - we need your help! A short statement made to me about my doctors recently got me thinking... The statement was about the story of the blind men and the elephant. Each blind man felt a different part of the elephant and assumed the elephant was something different than what it was. My doctor told me, "Everybody sees a different part of the elephant." Nobody was seeing the complete picture - just a tiny portion. This can be tough when you're the elephant and need help!… Continue

Ellen S Remember your medicines - 3 steps to sTweet Reminders

Read Part One of this post here Before a recent vacation I hit on an idea I was sure someone else much more tech-savvy had discovered first, but apparently not. I wanted to share it, in hopes that Health Activists find it worthy enough to pass along to others who might benefit by using it, or even using it as a jump-off point for finding something else that might work for them. Ellen S Tips for Health Activists: sTweet Reminders for Medication

Do you or someone you know need help remembering to take medicines at the right times each day? Those with chronic medical conditions often find this a very difficult part of their life. On a personal level, some medicines make me very forgetful, so remembering when and what or how much to take can be a huge obstacle in my life because forgetting something can mean an emergency run to the hospital. I was saving to invest in an expensive reminder watch to keep me on schedule, until the da… Continue

Janeen One way to bring awarness to your cause is to have a Twitter Party

What is a twitter party? A twitter party is where you "tweet up" with other tweeters that have the same interest as you. You can promote a cause, educate others, or just try to "network" with more people to expand your twitter group or on-line network. The idea of the twitter party is to choose a hashtag name for your party, choose a search engine for real time tracking ( a few… Continue

Ellen S True, simple, brief, beginner Tai Chi for Chronic conditions

Exercise is difficult when you suffer chronic health conditions. Sometimes simply getting out of bed seems like the 'main event' of the day. It's so terribly important for us not to become frail by at least doing simple stretches and movements throughout the day. Our bodies are very frugal and will not keep muscles and bone and tendons it does not need. From my perspective, chronic Migraine makes it especially difficult to exercise, and the joint pain of Lupus and spasms of Dystonia are an addi… Continue

I was thinking about doing an informal list of Migraine Twitters, people who are using Twitter for migraine support.
