WEGO Health

I've been researching Alzheimer's blogs and I was really touched by the "Had a Dad" Alzheimer's blog. Gevera, the writer, has a photo up of her mom and dad together and it really humanizes the disease. She's also posts that she's working on a 101-type document for people learning about Alzheimer's and she's looking for contributors. If you want to help out, make sure to get in touch.

My name is Kathy Hatfield and I am the primary caregiver for my 79 year old Dad who has Alzheimer's disease and lives with me in North Carolina.

I am writing a daily blog on my caregiver website that shows the lighter side of caring for someone with dementia. There is also lots of information about dementia and caregiving, as well as a LIVE CHAT every Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time for caregivers who need support, but cannot attend a “live” support group.

Please pass this link along to anyone you feel would enjoy it.

Thanks,

"Memory Lane" is an excellent site. Thank you to Michael for working so hard on it. It's a very well written site with much emotion and honesty. Another site that humanizes Alzheimer's is "Mary's Place". It's a blog written by an amazing woman with Alzheimer's disease. She shares her daily activities, family life and what it means to have Alzheimer's.
