When Infertility strikes after you are a Mom

I found a good short video that talks a bit about Secondary Infertility - infertility that strikes after you've had one or sometimes more successful pregnancies. The video was made with the help of Dr. Frederick Licciardi, a Fertility doctor at NYU Fertility Center. He has a Blog where he answers questions and discusses topics.

The video can help to secondary infertility be more understood. It is often assumed that once you have a child you are immune, not only to infertility, but also to the pain and heartache that comes with it. Secondary infertility is very real and very painful. Even though I was an primary infertility sufferer, I still got questioned why I would try for another. I was even told once I should "be thankful for what I had." Having one child, whether you battled infertility or not to get him/her, does not make your dream of 2, 3 or more children dissapear. Not being able to conceive or carry a child to term is devastating, no matter how many children you do or do not have.
