Dystonia, Dr, balance, sprained ankle

Hello All,

I haven't been on for awhile. Fell and sprained my ankle, its getting better. Made an appointment with a Dr in Philly that Rogers Hartman gave me. I could only get in to see a nurse practicioner but I figure if I can get into their system then I can get into to see one of the doctors. I live in a rural area and I also made an appointment with my local neurologist can't get into see him until August. I am going to Philly in June. I know my dystonia is only mild but I also want them to check out my voice as I have always had trouble with my voice shaking and such, so if Ican see someone in Philly they have docotors that work with all dystonia's. I will let you know what I think after the visit. Does anyone else have trouble with their voice, sometimes it is so frustrating. I hate to go to drive throughs and sometimes I hate to talk on the phone.
Take care all, Lori

Hi Lori,
So sorry about your sprained ankle.I am glad it is getting better. My voice will fluctuate at times, I am not a doctor or a nurse( but i did stay at a Holiday Inn). I have dystonia in my neck and sometimes the muscles get tighter around it and it will be softer sometimes i think i am talking so loud to.I am not sure why it does that thoe.BUt i just wanted to let you know that i have that also i try to relax becuase if i do not not the muscles pull to tight and then it is harder to get air to breath that is when other say " it is just a panic attack" well it could then be because if i cant get oxygen geesh i panic : ) , I also try to keep humor to. OK well make sure to keep you leg iced or what the directions your dr said to do ok .Nurse practicioners usually are good becuase they are trying hard to do their best also .and blissful contentment to you , FelicityNexus
