Migraineurs Relaxing Together - More than Just Beer & Pizza

I'm doing something I've threatened to do for a long time. Any of you who've followed what I've been saying at all know that I'm a proponent of relaxation for calming the Migraine brain. It has worked for me, and it has worked for my Migraine management clients, so I'm getting a group of Migraineurs to do it together.
What do I mean by that? Well, no, I'm not talking about a pizza and a beer, or a night at the movies. Studies show that Migraine frequency and severity can be reduced by anywhere from 40% to 70% if you regularly, consistently practice relaxation. Deliberate relaxation, like deep breathing, yoga, full-body relaxation, guided visualization, or mindfulness meditation. When I saw my first headache specialist five years ago, he sent me through a relaxation training program that cut my Migraine frequency in half within a few months.

The problem? Making it a habit and making the habit stick! Having a group to practice relaxation techniques with made a huge difference for me. But as my Headache Reduction Program group leader told me, she had the hardest time getting people to leave their homes and come out to a group on a consistent basis.

And so here's what I've been threatening to do: Why not hold a teleclass? I'm a coach, we hold teleclasses all the time on all sorts of topics. I've conducted meditations and guided visualizations by teleclass before. This way a group of Migraineurs can practice relaxing together, with one another's support, but without leaving home. There's a small fee for the teleclass, but I'm trying to keep it very affordable so people can make it part of their regular routines. If you'd like to learn more about it, please come visit me at Free my Brain. Come visit any way; I just put the new site up and would love to have your feedback!

Wishing you pain free days and nights,
Megan
