Sweating is always good, but I also think the yoga makes me focus on myself for an hour and a half...no exceptions...easy to put yourself last and unfortunately, your health can suffer as a result.

BTW, your horse looks like a unicorn! I did a double take of you profile pic! Love horses too, I'm sure riding is very therapeutic.

Hi Ellen, Thanks for introducing yourself. Does sound like you've had a tough go of it...congrats on your achievements.

Bikram Yoga worked great for me because it is taught in a heated room (great for loosening tight joints/muscles) and it does not involve a lot of "downward dogs"...pain from bearing weight on my hands and wrists really prevented me from doing other forms of yoga. Bikram can be really hard at first to get used to (some people feel sick and dizzy) because of the 100+ temperature, but it is worth sticking with it. I'm lucky to be at a point where I don't need any medication to manage my RA symptoms. I think I have to attribute a lot of my success to Bikram yoga.

Love the songs, Ellen. Hope to make the webinar for Twitter tomorrow...if doc appt isn't too long. It's follow-up from MRI cerv spine under anesthesia last Fri. I was able to view the CD on my computer yesterday. From past MRIs & doc explanations, it sure looks 'scary'. Don't know what this new doc can offer since I've been told by at least 6 neurosurgeons & orthopedic surg's that I am no candidate for fusion due to severe spasms in my neck muscles. I haven't been able to find a combo of meds to relieve my symptoms for more than 20 yrs now. I've never been tested for DYT1 gene or dopomine deficiency. What should I ask for? This doc is a spine specialist referred by my pain doc [who is at a loss how to treat me now]. I don't have a neurologist now...last one I saw offered 'nothing' except to try & alleviate fibro pain, etc. with Lyrica & Skelaxin...of course, no relief there either. I read that those 2 are contraindicated for ST/CD anyway. So what should I ask for? It's been in the early years that I took Artane, Baclofen, Klonopin, Valium, Oxycodone, Methadone, Morphine, Flexeril, Duragesic patch & on & on it goes. Since I had no definitive relief from those my current pain doc will not re-prescribe any of them. I was taking so many at one time that I couldn't tell if ANYTHING helped or not. Finally last fall I began to d/c all 15 meds I was taking. Worst withdrawal was Klonopin...that Benzo almost killed me...but while I was taking it [until I had to keep increasing doses] helped me more than anything else along with Oxy. Now they won't touch me with Klon or narcotics. I'm presently taking SOMA & Tramadol with Xanax...which doesn't help either. I do receive steroid trigger point injections in my neck about ev month...very little relief there either. I'm just at a loss as to what to ask for. There is not a movement disorder spec in my area & I have no one to drive me elsewhere.
Any suggestions? Thanks, Ellen. Hope you're having a great day.

Good to see you on here, and I plan on reading some of your stuff. I been real ill and haven't been on much at all! so I have a lot to catch up on when I get better! I got a serious infection in my foot and have been in bed very sick from the meds I have to take, plus I have to keep my foot elevated, and this is just another not needed illness to add to the many I already do have! Im really down lately, so I get on when I can.....Good to hear from you tho, and sure follow me, but dont get lost with me lol I may get lost.....JK
Have a great day
God Bless

Migraines have been quietly present - not as bad as they usually are. I have been pretty good about taking my meds early, getting my botox and decompressing when I feel like my stress level is shooting through the stratosphere.

How are you?

Thank you for taking the time to view my video. I am lucky that my sister understands for she has been going through her own discoveries with being diagnosed with Epilepsy at the same time as I was with Dystonia. Probably helps that her daughter is autistic and she is able to see\ understand the world in a different light and has a totally different level of acceptance while researching anything that effects our family members.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, I attended the noon Twitter webcast.

One question - what Business is WEGO in? How do you make money to fund your organization? From looking at your site, I didn't see any sources of revenue.

Hi Ellen, thanks for the welcome. Newbie so it may take me awhile to find my way around. This looks like a great site. I have cervical dyst or ST along with fibro, periph neuro, IBS, degenerative disks, etc etc. Right now I'm in a flare from all the probs & it's hard to be on the puter. So hard to hold my head steady [impossible, really] & type; difficult to do anything with both hands. I could not in my wildest dreams ever imagined a life with all these probs. I know I'm not alone & I pray God blesses every one!

LOLOL I want to post it at LIVING WHOLE with CHRONIC PAIN ...but you already know that, don't you. But you're probably beginning to doubt I'll ever do it for real...I'm sorry. Just one more time, Ellen. I promise! Again...

Living Whole,
Kimberly

By the way....I LOVE THE SONG! I have since the first time I heard it! Doesn't it just make you feel good! Is it to anyone in particular in your life?

Ellen,
You said, "I'm one that found it important to look at the basics - simple vitamins and minerals that I don't properly absorb. (Occham's Razor) Once we got testing done and realized what was happening, the changes I made to help fix the issues ..."

I looked for a blog talking about this, but couldn't find it. I probably surfed right by it and didn't know it :) Would you care to elaborate on the testing done and the changes you made?
