Welcome Mary and thanks for adding me to your friends. WRT your sexual concerns, i may not be the best person to advise you. my 'first' was 20 years ago. im single and celibate for a decade. since my only child will be grown and off to college soon, i have considered having relationships again. My #1 advice for comfortable sex is to choose a partner you're highly attracted to ie. good chemistry and be sure 'you' are fully aroused so that you produce your natural lubrication and let your vaginal muscles relax an conform to your partner. Remember it is a partnership...let your guy aware of your concerns. Don't worry even 'veterans' sometimes have to go thru some practice to get into the 'groove' with new partners. esp after 40. have fun and enjoy!
Hi Mary. Welcome to WEGO Health - we're so glad you found us! I see you've jumped right into some discussions here at the Women's Health group - fabulous! Such good questions too! If you have any trouble navigating the site, just let me know, okay? That's just one reason why I'm here.
This is a great question. Many women into menopause, who haven't had a sexual relationship for a time, would have the same fears. There are hormone creams and even a little pill you pop in vaginally, so the effect of the hormone is minimal. That can help menopausal women. You may not need that, but it's an option to talk about with your doctor. Otherwise, I'd suggest KY Jelly or some other lubricant, as well as deep love and sexual attraction, plus honesty with your partner. Go slow. You are entering a world of love and caring. Blessings to you.
