After reading
this post about a book that explains plastic surgery to children of mothers who've had it, I was reminded of
this article about former glamour model Alicia Douvall. Douvall's 12-year-old daughter wants breast implants for her 13th birthday.
Alicia's daughter, who she describes as 'a quiet girl', harbours ambitions to become a lingerie model, which her mother supports.
Nice that she's encouraging her 12-year-old daughter to be a lingerie model. whatever floats your boat, I guess.
However, despite bearing witness to her mother's constant enhancements to her Barbie-like figure, Alicia says she was still surprised by her daughter's birthday request. She said: "I was surprised because I didn't know she was worried about her flat chest.
You're surprised? Why? Hello... you're her mother. Of course she wants to emulate you. Duh. (Oh, and nice one, rubbing in that your daughter has a flat chest. Now she'll definitely want to live up to your standards of big breasts.)
But Georgia said: "I think my mum looks good. Because of her, I think it's normal to have surgery if something's not quite right."
Wow... just wow! How sad!
Alicia admits to having had over 50 cosmetic surgery procedures over the past decade, and it seems her plastic surgery obsession has rubbed off on her young daughter Georgia.
And the mother wonders why.
Unsurprisingly, she supports her daughter's request, and is happy that she wants to surgically alter her still-developing teenage body. However, Alicia said she is insisting that her daughter waits until she's 16 for the operation.
She said: "I think a 16-year-old with a nice, sexy figure will do really well as a model as long as she's managed well.
"That's why I'm happy for Georgia to have a boob job because it will give her a career.
"She's been at a modelling agency since she was about six. She'll be more famous than Britney!"
Need I say more? ::complete outrage::
Alicia, 28, has just returned from America where she had her 12th breast op, but, unhappy with the results, she's already planning her 13th.
I was 24 when my breasts suddenly decided to develop from anything other than an A-cup. This woman is 28 and has been having surgeries on her breasts since she was at least 18, maybe younger!
I think this is absolutely outrageous. And we wonder why girls as young as five are having such self-esteem issues.
Well, thank goodness a plastic surgeon recently decided to come to the rescue by publishing a children's book that aims to "comfort" kids about their mommy (or daddy's) new makeover!
