Self Magazine conducted a recent poll of 4,000 women age 25 to 45 and found that 6 women out of 10 are disordered eaters, and another 1 in 10 have a eating disorder. So basically 7 out of 10 women have some kind of eating disorder or disordered eating issue.
So what exactly is a disordered eater? The article breaks down disordered eaters into six categories.

Career dieters
Purgers
Food addicts
Extreme exercisers
67 percent of women surveyed are trying to lose weight in some way. A few practice eating nutritious foods and exercising, 35% use diet pills, 26% cut out entire food groups, 37% admit to skipping meals to lose weight, and 13% use smoking to lose weight (Ugggg).
This survey has sparked some women to actually talk about their disordered eating issues.
