I found myself laughing out loud today as I read a series of stories on pumping breastmilk called Tales from the Pump. While I was able to find humor in these stories now, I'm sure that at the time of the events, the women involved were frustrated and irritated.
If you've ever found yourself needing to pump breastmilk and found yourself wondering where to get the job done, I hope you'll share it with us. We can laugh or cry along with you!
Probably the weirdest place I've had to pump was a hospital patient's bathroom. I tried for the most part to pump at home. I must have a weird thing with hospitals because it is also the worst place I tried to breastfeed as well. You would think there would have been somewhere in this huge hospital that I could have went to BF, but there wasn't. My son was hungry and crying up a storm. I looked around and finally asked if there was some place private I could BF. They told me no. So, I went into a bathroom stall, sat on the toilet and fed my son. I tried to put out of my mind how unhygienic it was. Sure I could have done it in the waiting room, but I was a new mom (he was a week old) and very shy, and of course that didn't last long.
I hope some other people chime in, and thanks for the link (lots of laughs).
