About me
I am a mother of two amazing kids that happen to have allergies — one with severe food allergies to peanuts, tree nuts and native egg, the other with environmental and seasonal allergies.

I started a company called Check My Tag to help manage my son's life-threatening food allergies. I realized that the only way to effectively protect him (and other kids too!) was to raise awareness and educate everyone about food allergies. A wonderful by-product of these efforts has been the discovery and inclusion into the supportive, proactive, and passionate world of food allergy parents.

Peanut Allergy Safe at Ballgames

Hey, WEGO Health friends. I'm hoping to harness the power of community to extend the reach of an item that I posted on my blog yesterday, Peanut Allergy Safe at Ballgames. Essentially, the St. Louis Cardinals (my home team!) has stepped up to the plate to host a peanut safe section at an upcoming home game. After being approached by the local food allergy support group, the are prohibiting the sale of peanuts… Continue

Blog Marketing

I spent the first weekend in May in Chicago at an event called SOBCon (Successful and Outstanding Bloggers Conference) that was billed as Biz School for Bloggers. My mind is still aflutter from all the great information that was shared that will help me in my role as a food allergy resource and advocate. We heard from heavy-hitters in the internet marketing and Web 2.0 world like Brian Clark of Copyblogger, social m… Continue

Ria, if your friend would be interested, then I would be glad to meet her. I will be teaching classes soon about how to choose and cook local organic foods. I sell some of my produce as well as fiber, and I sell organic breads and cookies.

Hi Ria, thanks for introducing yourself. I have 3 adult children. One has severe allergies/asthma (like me), the other has moderate allergies/asthma, and the third only has very mild allergies. My oldest has ADD, my husband too.
It's difficult to fly on a plane with seasonal allergies/chemical sensitivity. I got on a plan 20 years ago and had a "mild cold". When we traveled back by car, I spent most of the time asleep because of the OTC allergy meds/allergies reactions themselves.
I have landed in the hospital because the allergies trigger the asthma and then we can't get it under control. Hence the working from home. I had one episode that I spent 3 hours in the Dr.'s office with a severe allergy attack, my throat was swelling shut. I only was aware of 1/2 of time. My oldest daughter stayed by my side. I'm pretty lucky to have great kids.
Well I need to get to work. Great meeting you!
