About me

Resilience
by Amir

The ache silent, the void a home,
night tranquil, loneliness pours on sorrows ice,
candles burn, cry, tears melt past laughter,
the walls make shadows, I wanna forget,
window cracked, cold sneaks in like a friend,
wine makes my tongue lust and I take a big sip.
Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday night,
a constant date with my mind, my memories,
my lack of giving up on humanity.

In a little house, in a little town,
some place in time, reaching through,
all livings hell to find the ones,
that still believe, scars and all,
finding each other, keeping hope alive,
knowing we're not alone even though
we seem surrounded by the enemy.

Hello, my name is Robin and I suffer from a secondary generalized dystonia. The picture You see in the background is the bridge on hwy 95 just as it crosses the Bill Williams River at the CO River. This is where I live, along the CO River in Lake Havasu City, AZ. The Bill Williams River is located about 40 miles south of Lake Havasu. This picture was taken on my way to Scripts in San Diego to get elevated for my DBS, that I was eventually found not to be a canidate for.

Fishing is one of my greatest passions. I have a love of the outdoors, mother nature and all her glorious gifts. I absouletly love living in the desert, the awesome sunsets and sunrises, the delicate wild flowers that cover the desert floor like a plush carpet there's also a peace and serenity here that just sooths my soul.

I have 2 cats, Myster and Bunnies who I just love and spoil rotten, I mean why not, they deserve it after all the love they show me. Myster is the clown and Bunnies my shadow. That’s Myster below.

In my spare time, which is often, I raise awarenes for dystonia. I am very active in the Myspace Dystonia Support Group. I have done two awareness videos: Putting A Face On Dystonia and I Am Dystonia.

I Am Dystonia was done on behalf of the Myspace Support Group, everyone in the video is a member of the group, many have already joined us here on WEGO. I used some of their own words along with portions of dystonic poems thru out the video.

I did Putting A Face On Dystonia to give dystonia a face, and to put meaning behind the word “spasm” because it is so much more then a word and because “spasm” doesn’t even begin to explain what we as Dystonians must endure. It also chronicals my progression.

I also love poetry, although a poet I am not. I live a very simple life and always have even before dystonia. The poem Relience above pretty much sums up my life. I love that poem; The Enemy respresents dystonia to me..

I am in the proces of building my page up so please check back as there will be new things added.

Helping Me Help Myself

Due to my on going progression of my Dystonia it has become more then evident that if I am to retain my independance of living alone and caring for myself without the aide of a care taker in some of the most basic needs that changes were going to have to made to my home. About 4 years ago when my shoulders and arms became involved, infact the frist day I ever spasmed in those areas was in the middle of the summer, I was so hot and couldn't cool down, I was sweating profusely from the spasming m… Continue

Lets Talk Muscles ~ Looking Beyond The Brain

The earth is composed of over 100 elements, the most abundant of which is oxygen. Oxygen is essential to the survival of all living matter. Take away our supply of oxygen for just 4 minutes and death is almost assured. A spasming muscle prevents blood flow; when the muscle is not receiving enough blood, the muscle is also not receiving enough oxygen. In an athlete, a lack of oxygen to an over worked muscle will severely hamper performance by causing an increase in lactic acid in the muscles and… Continue

i hope that you and your dad have a great time together while he's
there..and enjoy your road trip..it sounds like fun!!

"Robin wrote: Hi Nana P :) I love Your page how the big sunset holds there for a few seconds, Your myspace is the same way, how do You do that ???"

Ok.. on MySpace that is something that is kind of a fluke. I went and did their profile editor (huge mistake, cuz now I can't pic another lay-out theme but what they have on MySpace.) So I went to one of the sites (pimp my profile.com) and picked a new background that had the same color fonts and added it.. that is what I got. I just leave it alone.
As far as doing a lay-out here, I did it this way..

Go to "theme" .I picked out the orange one of theirs, cuz I knew I wanted to add the sunset pic. Then I proceeded down into doing my own theme backgrounds as followed:
1.In header background...
choose a color from box that best fits your choosen theme from above.
2. In browse box,pic a picture from your files you want as your background.. something to match whatever color you choose in step 1.
3.In Top Bar and Footer: I choose black
4.Sides: I choose black
5. Body and content boxes
Font; comic sans
Text: comic sans.
Body Background: same pic you choose above.
Now, hit SAVE
That should do it!
I dont understand why the big sunset holds there for a few. It is supposed to be the other way around. On my computer, it pops up as all orange and then immediately changes to all the theme settings as described in 1- 5. Go figure!

I have been really busy today and not on line much cuz my grandson painted my computer room and everything was bit in a state of dis-aray....(and now my scatica went out.. just what I need,huh)... but now that it is done being painted, (looking good, too!) Iam slowly putting things back together. Monday I have my granddaughters flying in for 6 days from PA so I will be one happy camper with all three of grand kids here..and will be pretty busy with them.

I love your slogan "No Dystonian Left Behind". I think I will make a banner.. sounds good?
Love your playlist. I gotta do mine, too.I forgot about doing that until I saw yours

Ok. got to run for now. Hope you see more rain! It's pretty quiet here in Phoenx tonight with a chance of rain.. We had enough to last us a life time the other night.. but as you know.. one night of torrential downpours is hardly enough to hold us over.
Talk with you soon,Robin!
Mucho-luvo,
OOXOXO
