About me
I'm a 42 yr old Mom, wife, woman; with complicated migraine, variant. I've had them since I was a kid. Sometimes they completely interfere with, not only my life, but my family's life as well. I am very slowly getting better control over them. I have good days and not so good days. I've learned to LIVE the good days, rather than sit and wait them out like I used to. I do know the monster WILL strike at any given moment, but I fight back when WHEN it does.

Great interview, Deborah! Welcome to WEGO Health. Sounds like you already have a great support system in the blogosphere but hopefully, you will connect with other people who share your interests here as well as who can help you raise awareness for migraines. If you need aything, let me know!

I didn't ever say anything, because by the time I realized I was the only one seeing things, I thought people would think I was nuts. I had never heard of migraine then, and until I had a blinding aura at the age of 19 had never heard of aura.

Thanks Deborah... I'm toying with the concept of a "contract" or some other early post-diagnosis info that would at least give folks a chance to get to friends before they desert. I believe half the battle may be in saying "hey, stick around even though I'm going to be (boring/loopy/scary) - it'll mean a lot even if you don't come as often..."

Deborah - thank you for being so open about your experience with migraines. I don't personally have them, but reading about others experiences helps me understand what is going on with my husband when he has a migraine.

I hope you have a wonderful time vacationing this summer, and that it is a pain-free, fun time with the family.

Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you post in the community.

Deborah: Thanks for your insights - I'm very intrigued by your gold friends/toxic friends ideas. I see this concept beginning to appear across WEGO Health, sometimes in the form of praise for Amazing Caregivers (Gold!), but also in laments for The Deserters, who just can't deal with disease and disappear... Do you think Deserters can be educated, or motivated? Or do we just keep mining for Gold?

Deborah,

Wow, again, so much in your Spotlight story has hit home. Thank you for taking the time to let us get to know you here. :)

I remember watching the weird things in my vision and trying to go to sleep as a kid. Because I didn't always have headache at that point it was almost entertainment. (I was very little and nothing was scary then) and not realizing until sometime in adulthood that this wasn't everyone's experience. I think as children, we accept things much easier than as adults.

I especially loved the comment you gave when asked what you would tell a non-migraineur-- "When can I pencil you in"-- SO true! I've often been asked that very thing and my only answer was a boring "Where can we start."

I'll have to go and check out your blog again. I think it's been a while since I had a chance to visit it! I think it's the weather...

Again, Thanks for letting us in. :)

Deborah,
Thank you so much for sharing your migraine experiences with us through your spot light interview. As a fellow migraine Mommy, it's always comforting to know that others are experiencing and feeling the same things that I do.
I look forward to learning more about you and how you deal with the migraines.

Hi Deborah (or do you prefer Deb?)

I'm so glad you found us here at WEGO Health. I hope you find us a good place to come for information. It sounds like you might have lots of experiences to share with us too, so I look forward to learning new things from you! It looks like we have much in common as well.

Be sure to let me know if I can help in any way...

Hey Deb - fun to find you here too. I think this is going to be a good place to hang and create some stuff together.
