Welcome, Lisa! I've got a 6-year old girl and a 4-year old boy. As you can tell from your other comments, there are lots of moms here to share your triumphs and tribulations! :)
Feel free to post or PM and questions or concerns. Looking forward to getting to know you.
Hi Lisa. It very could be reflux - it sure sounds like it. Both my girls had it starting at infancy. I would suggest talking to her Pediatrician and possibly seeking out a Pediatric Gastroenterologist. Not all Peds are very knowledgeable in reflux. You can also try to monitor when it happens and what she ate that day/night. Try to not feed her within 2 hours of going to bed and, if possible, have her sleep on a slight incline (easier said than done of course - especially for a 2 year old). Monitor her overall diet as well. My 2 year old has recently been found to have a soy intolerance which we are pretty sure is the main cause of her reflux.
It's not always easy to find the reason (if it is indeed) reflux, but those are some things you can start with. Is she in pain or discomfort? Does she eat well? My oldest went off her medication at 8 months and ended up back on at 18 months. At that point it was "silent reflux". Meaning the only sign was poor eating.
Good luck. Our girls are the same age. Alysa is 2 and Kayla will be 4 in August (they are 16 months apart).
Hi Lisa -- Welcome to WEGO Health. I'm glad to see you jumped right in and joined two of our groups. Like you I have two children pretty close in age (a soon to be 2 year old daughter and a son who will turn 4 in November). I look forward to seeing your posts in the community as it looks like we are experiencing the terrible twos and troublesome 4's at the same time ;)
