- I am currently working on developing my own web business which I started as an accommodation for my allergies,asthma, and vocal cord dysfunction.
I was told that I needed to "exercise good vocal hygiene", which basically means that I have to stop talking so much. I had already cut down on large groups because of fragrances. (landed in the hospital because of those!) and was working fewer hours in a job in which I was underemployed because I could control the exposure to the allergens. The severe allergies/asthma and now VCD, put an end to the way I used to make a living.
Since I need to avoid groups, I am developing my skills on the Social Networks. Well here goes. I have great family, several members of my family also have allergies/asthma. Although I had to give up our cats because of my allergies. I have a BSBA. I enjoy music, logic puzzles, and spending time with loved ones.
I started a blog on Dailystrength.org, concerning VCD. Someone told me I should blog and so I also have one on Disaboom.com, under user name: AnnNE.
I encourage anyone who has VCD to contribute. VCD gets mistaken for asthma. I was told by my doctor that people have been put on steroids and some even put on ventilators because VCD and asthma look very similar.

Sorry, I've been gone for so long.
My business is picking up now. I'm learning how to study and understand my analysis pages. I spend my days researching new products, learning how to blog, writing blogs, and eventually writing a newsletter. One thing at a time.

A Friendly Place! Intro to VCD - Vocal Cord Dysfunction
Everyone has been so friendly!
Someone suggested that I talk more about VCD - Vocal Cord Dysfunction.
I was diagnosed with VCD just a few months ago. I have severe allergies w/asthma. I kept having attacks that looked like uncontrolled asthma. My allergist because suspicious and asked that I come into the office when i had another attack that couldn't get under control with the usual asthma meds (this includes steroids - shots and oral).

It looks like you're getting the hang of things! I write about parenting a child with a dairy allergy. I'm sure you'll have lots of interesting experiences and advice to share, no matter how much writing you've done before.
It is unfortunate that when you type in VCD in a search engine that you come up with pages of searches on video compact disc and next to nothing about your condition. I hope you will share more of your experience with VCD and asthma and allergies through blogging or joining one of our communities.
Good luck with your web business. I have worked from home for the past 10+ years and have loved every minute of it.
